Process

Teacher Script

1)       Read through ALL of the teacher pages to familiarize yourself with the entire process.  This includes:

a.       Teacher Introduction Page (Brief overview of project)

b.      Teacher Standard Page (Shows where in the curriculum this project should be assigned.)

c.       Teacher Learners Page (Shows who this project would be appropriate for.)

d.      Teacher Process Page (Shows the exact process that the students will be following.)

e.       Teacher Evaluation Page (Shows how this project will be evaluated)

f.        Teacher Resources Page (Shows all of the resources needed or available for this project.)

2)         Lead the students through all of the student based pages.  This process includes:

a.       Making sure that all students get to the index page.  This is the main page that will allow them to navigate to other pages they need!

b.      Showing students the Student Introduction page.  This gives a brief overview of the project and leads into the next step.

c.       Showing students the Student Task page.  Now time should be taken to explaining in full detail the exact task and showing the students samples of newspapers.

d.      This should lead nicely into the Student Process page.  This will explain very specifically how this process will be done.  Again, this should be done with ample time to address questions and concerns.  This is the portion where students should have the most questions and need the most guidance.

e.       The importance of showing the students the Student Evaluation page cannot be emphasized enough.  Students have a great opportunity to see exactly what is expected of them and exactly what product will result in what grade.

3)         Students should now be given a large amount of time to work on their project.  There should be ample opportunity for them to get help from facilitators such as teachers or aides.  There should also be benchmarks where students should be checked for progress

4)         Before handing in the project, students should assess themselves using the rubric found in the Student Evaluation page.  Self evaluation is a fundamental step in any process.
