Introduction

This lesson was developed in the course Teaching with WebQuests , a course offered by the Teacher Education Institute.  The purpose of this assignment is intended to show students that history and science are innately related.  It will cover several standards of the New York State Chemistry Regents for Chemistry: The Physical Setting.  It will also briefly touch upon the specific history of WW2 that corresponds to the development of the atomic bomb.  It is intended for High School Sophomores enrolled in “Regents Chemistry.”  By the end of the lesson, students should have a general understanding of the chemistry of fusion (as it pertains to the atomic bomb) as well as a general knowledge of the history of the Manhattan project.
